Mélanie Isaac - SURFACE - album release party

Feverish voice, innate sense of melody, Mélanie Isaac makes us dive under the “Surface”. This new nine-song album travels subtly between French variety and indie pop, like a long kiss from Barbara to Dominique A via Sanson. Following a stopover in Astaffort and a Parisian meeting with Antoine Graugnard, this disc produced and arranged with Julien Lebart in a studio in Rivesaltes, mixed and mastered in Brussels by Erwin Autrique, melts us into a setting with sonorities both organic and atmospheres, with this timeless horizon as their focal point. On this route, we go in search of the abyss, we reveal ourselves in the heart of a ghost town, we fly to Florida. Love is explored in all its facets. Like so many chances to reflect the light, to defy our carelessness, to reach the shore. With one hand in the wind and on the other, this bird that awaits the return of the absent. Upon arrival, it is obvious. We can only look each other in the eye. Settling down in Brussels in 2012, Mélanie Isaac won the Biennale de la Chanson Française (FrancoFaune course at the time) but also the first Franc'OFF prize at the Francofolies de Spa in 2019, after the release of her EP "L'inachevée ”, recorded remotely between Manchester and Ghent. She treads the stages with power, delicacy and the promise of always offering, in groups or solo, unique interpretations of her repertoire. We find her among others in the first part of Jean-Louis Murat, Dani… From this spring of 2022, it is alone on stage, adorned with her Gibson firebird and her piano, that Mélanie Isaac brings her album to life.
