Emily Jane White

We are very excited to announce that Californian Emily Jane White (accompanied by cello) will be bringing her acoustic-based dark folk to Brussels own Art Deco jazz sanctuary L'Archiduc on October 18, 2013.

For admirers of Kate Bush, Chan Marshall (Cat Power) and Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star) and citing influences such as Emmy-lou Harris, Nick Cave and the gothic literature of Toni Morrison and Charlotte Perkins we hope you will all find something to love in the echoes of her melancholic balladry.

Get your tickets early though: After Emily's sell-out concert at Les Nuit Botanique in 2011 this intimate showcase (strictly limited to 80 tickets) to promote the release of upcoming new album Blood / Lines is not to be missed.

“The Northern Californians debut comes alive with enough gothic imagery for an Edgar Allen Poe novel…” Rolling Stone

“White gives her wounds names and turns them into living characters, able to break hearts or carry axes. She personifies and abstracts them.” The Fader
