Le Jazz après shopping met Soet Kempeneer Trio

Belgian pianist and composer Bram De Looze (°1991, Knokke-Heist) founds his way to music throughout his teens. In 2007 he started the band LABtrio together with drummer Lander Gyselinck and bassist Anneleen Boehme. Through the Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon festival; LABtrio recorded their first album in studio La Buissonne. This LABtrio debut album 'Fluxus' came out on the label 'Outnote Records - Outhere Music' in fall 2013 and is released on the Gent Jazz Festival. In 2015 LABtrio started playing with Michael Attias and Christopher Hoffmann with whom they will record a second album in New York.
 
In his latest new band ‘Bram De Looze's Septych’ he chooses for the sound of two cello’s, three horns, drums and piano. This new exploration of Bram De Looze involves diverse and astounding improvisers: Daniel Levin, Lester St-Louis, Robin Verheyen, Gebhard Ullmann, Bo Van Der Werf and Flin Van Hemmen. Album release takes place in november 2015.

In New York Bram De Looze recorded several albums alongside Slovenian drummer Dre Hocevar; Motion In Time (2013), Coding Of Evidentiality (2015), Collective Effervescence (2015) and with Greek drummer Stephanos Chytiris; Flux Project PYR|N (2014). 

In the Lemmensinstitute (2011) in Leuven, bassist Jos Machtel, drummer Matthias De Waele and Bram De Looze formed a new working group. They released an album on the Werf records label called 'Foster Treasures' - De Looze / Machtel / De Waele (2013).

Bram De Looze’s main teachers were Werner Meert and Hans Van Oost at the music academy of Knokke 2003-2009, and Ron Van Rossum at the Lemmensinstitute 2009-2011. In 2011-2012 he completed a masters degree at the Artesis Conservatory in Antwerp which ended in a collaboration with bassist Greg Cohen for the Jazz Middelheim Festival. In 2012-2013 he was granted a BAEF scholarship to work his way through the New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York. He worked with internationally renowned musicians and privately studied with Marc Copland, Uri Caine and Jacob Sacks.
